With all that has happened in our Country over the last 7 years, it is tempting to withdraw from everything, and hide our heads in the sand. Or if we don't hide, we often find ourselves seeking someone to lash out at, and take the brunt of our anger and frustration.

Look, we are all stressed out. We are all frightened and angry with the state of our economy, the state of our government, with the lack of leadership, and the lack of hope. But we have to be very careful that we not take out all these emotions on those who are not the cause of it all.

Unfortunately, the Administration from 2000 to 2008 made it a priority to use the G.L.B.T. community to win over the religious right. And this has been a travesty. For now the gay/lesbian community is suffering because of mis-guided fear, hatred, prejudice and ignorance. And it has to stop.
